Steps to Salvation

THE MOST IMPORTANT DECISION OF YOUR LIFE!!!!

  • Steps to Salvation

Salvation is the single most important part of our spiritual life. Salvation is the deliverance from the ruin and depth of our sins as well as from bondage to our spiritual enemies and their works in our lives. Salvation is the foundation of our Christian life and relationship with Christ Jesus. The Bible says that sin is a heart condition. It is a condition of rebellion against God. The Bible even refers to pride as original sin. The Hebrew definition of the word sin means to miss the mark.

God created us to be like Him, but our pride and rebellion make us fall far short of that purpose. Our outward actions merely mirror our true inner condition. It is our true inner condition that God is concerned with. He knows the real you better than you yourself do, because He sees the inner man and all your secret thoughts and motives.  Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 4:13 (NIV)

Below are 3 fundamental and essential steps that will help lead you to salvation:

    • First, you must recognize that you are a sinner. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:8.  If you cannot accept that are a sinner before coming to Christ, then you will not see a need to come to him or accept him as savior.
    • Secondly, you must acknowledge the need for Christ in your lives. A body without physical life is declared physically dead, so anyone who is separated from God is described in the Bible as spiritually dead. As long as we remain spiritually dead, we cannot know God. As a result, we need Christ in our lives to gives us new and everlasting life. Romans 6:23, "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
    • Lastly, you must acknowledge the love of God and honor Jesus death on the cross. The greatest attribute of God is love. He is a God of love and has much love for you and me. He loves all sinners and wants to save every one of us from hell and the terrible results of our sin. His Word tells us, "For God so loves the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).  Romans 10: 9-10, "That if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

    Finally, pray this prayer:

Heavenly Father, I acknowledge that I am a sinner in need of your saving grace. I repent now of my sins, and ask for Your forgiveness. I confess and believe in my heart that Jesus Christ died on Calvary's cross for my sins. I confess and believe in my heart that Christ is risen from the dead and because of my confession, and belief in His death and resurrection, I AM SAVED! Thank you Lord for saving me this day. I pray, confess, and believe in Your Son Jesus Christ -- AMEN.

    Congratulations! You are saved!

Now, experience new life with Jesus.
